The Heart to Heart Chaplaincy Certification Program (H2HCC) began as a discipleship program in conjunction with the Men Coaching Men Discipleship Ministry (MCM) in 2012. As MCM developed, so did the opportunities to broaden the scope of their discipleship efforts.
The men that make up the MCM Discipleship Ministry come from different churches around the Phoenix area and interest from a few of these churches began to surface in regards to a need for both a general and specialized discipleship training process.
Since one of the main objectives of MCM is to develop leaders for the local church, it was a natural transition to provide a formal training program that would equip men for Christian Chaplaincy and potentially, licensing as Ministers in their local churches. The H2HCC certification program was the vehicle that provided that formal training.
Our desire is to assist the local church in the call to make disciples who in turn can make more disciples, assisting the local church pastor in equipping men for the ministry of Chaplaincy in their church congregation.
Our objective is to train men for the ministry of Christian Chaplaincy, whereby the local church would receive the benefit of godly men who have been Biblically equipped and theologically trained for service.
You will be equipped as a servant-leader in the local church and the world at large.
You will be equipped to minister God’s presence to hurting people.
You will be a model of the character of the Good Shepherd with an honorable legacy.
The overall objective of this course is to ensure that each Chaplain candidate is reasonably prepared to answer questions concerning the core beliefs that make up the Christian faith with a special emphasis on the Gospel of Christ.
Students will be instructed on the definition and the goal of pastoral counseling within the context of a Christian chaplain’s duties and responsibilities, with a special emphasis on the ministry of God’s Presence as an Ambassador of Christ.
Students will receive instructions on the Four Core Leadership Competencies with Relational Leadership and Leading Small Groups.
